How do I figure out what to charge for my Etsy listings?
Work backwards from what you need to keep. Decide your target profit margin, enter your costs here, and TallyPop calculates the minimum listing price that hits that margin after every Etsy fee. Most sellers are surprised how much higher they need to price than they thought — especially once Offsite Ads is factored in.
Should I charge for shipping or offer free shipping on Etsy?
It depends on your product weight and average order value. Free shipping can boost conversion and simplifies the buyer experience, but you need to bake the postage cost into your item price — and Etsy's transaction fee applies to the full item price either way. Run both scenarios in the calculator to see which leaves you more margin.
What profit margin should I target as an Etsy seller?
At minimum, 30% after all fees and cost of goods. Below that you have almost no buffer for refunds, discounts, or rising material costs. A 40–50% margin gives you room to run a sale occasionally, handle a problem order, and still come out ahead. Sellers who feel like they're working hard for nothing are usually sitting at 10–20% without realising it.
