Common questions

Which platform has the lowest fees — Amazon, Etsy, or eBay?
For most straightforward products, eBay's 13.25% all-in fee is the lowest. Etsy typically runs 13–16% in combined fees (transaction + processing + listing) before your own shipping costs. Amazon's referral fee plus FBA puts most sellers at 20–30%. But fees aren't the only thing — Amazon has far more traffic, Etsy has buyers specifically looking for handmade and unique items, and eBay is strongest for used goods and electronics.
Is it more profitable to sell on Amazon or Etsy?
Depends entirely on what you sell. Etsy's fees are lower and its audience actively seeks handmade, vintage, and one-of-a-kind items — so if that's your product, you can often charge more and keep more. Amazon has vastly more volume but higher fees and intense competition on price. The same product can net $4–8 more per sale on Etsy than Amazon once FBA is factored in, but only if Etsy buyers actually want what you're selling.
Should I sell on multiple platforms at once?
Yes, if you can manage the inventory. Most successful independent sellers list on two or three platforms and let the traffic mix work in their favour. The comparison calculator here shows you what you'd keep on each platform for the same product — if one platform clearly wins on margin and your product fits its audience, start there.
