Common questions

What fees does eBay charge sellers?
The main one is the final value fee: 13.25% of the total sale (item plus shipping) for most categories, dropping to 2.35% on amounts above $7,500. Payment processing is included — there's no separate charge. The first 250 listings per month are free. After that, insertion fees apply. Promoted Listings is optional and only costs you if it drives the sale.
What is eBay's final value fee and how is it calculated?
13.25% of your total sale amount for most categories. That total includes the item price and any shipping you charge the buyer. If you sell internationally, an additional 1.65% international transaction fee applies — that's excluded from the default calculation here but you can toggle it on.
Are there eBay fees I might be forgetting?
A few to watch: insertion fees after 250 free listings per month, Promoted Listings fees if you run them (only charged on successful sales), and international transaction fees on cross-border sales. Most casual sellers only ever pay the final value fee. High-volume sellers should track insertion fees once they exceed the free monthly limit.
